Altering a theme

Hi, I’ve installed WordPress on bluehost. The theme I picked was BlueHaze. I’m looking to monitize my blog which is why I decided to host it myself.

I didn’t realize I had to have knowledge of CSS and PHP. So, I find myself now in quagmire. What sources are out there that can help with editing a theme. BlueHost doesn’t support WordPress. And I can’t seem to find a source for learning how to edit my blog in WordPress when I use someone else theme.
