• On-page SEO check tools seem to show that that the video placeholder image does not have an alt-tag. It shows as empty in the code: alt=””

Can you make a feature to add ALT TAG to images/thumbnails of youtube videos?

The visible LYTE div does not have in image tag, as the the thumbnail is added as a background-image. As such I don’t think an alt-tag is appropriate there, but as an alternative we could give the div a title-tag with as value the title of the video as retrieved from YT?

Sorry, I didn’t understand last sentence.. Are you asking to add div a title-tag…..?

No, I’m asking if it would make sense for the div to have a title attribute (alt does not apply in this context) 🙂

I am not pro in this. So, tell what I can do now?

    now: nothing I’m afraid.

later: update wp youtube lyte, which will probably have a title-tag on the div.

Ok. So title tag will be automatically added or i have to add it manually?

    automatically.

to be clear; the title is already available in the microdata tags, so despite what SEO check tools state the video title is “readable” for search engine crawlers 🙂

ok. then i think no need to change in plugin…
