    I tried it before the announcement from WP that the next version was going to include this plug-in, and I decided I didn’t like it one bit. I uninstalled it. It’s too complicated and doesn’t have the easy-to-use basic stuff readily apparent. I gotta say that I’m not happy about WP deciding to force us to use this. I hope you can make some major improvements to the simplicity of its usability.

    If I were new to WP and this was the editor, I would probably quit using WP. I’m glad they are offering a plug-in for the classic editor.

    I’m sure the creators worked really hard on this, it’s an incredible work of code, but a terribly complicated editor.

    @williamsrdan thanks for taking time to test Gutenberg previously. Could I delve a a little into what you feel could be done to surface that basic stuff? Would more tutorials be a good idea or documentation? What was missing to get you started?

    No, having to have tutorials is a sign of a poorly designed interface. I couldn’t find a toolbar for styles of font, links, alignment, all the things that a text editor needs. The basic stuff that the classic WP editor has, which is limited, imo.
    Gutenberg is too unique. It has a lot of great features that were easily discoverable, but I couldn’t figure out how to do just the basic stuff by just looking. And it’s the little things that make something efficient and usable.

    So, it would be an interface change needed: a toolbar for text editing/formatting.
