    Hi,

Seeing Error: We’ve detected there’s already an existing Analytics tag on your site (ID UA-***********), but your account doesn’t seem to have access to this Analytics property. You can either remove the existing tag and connect to a different account, or request access to this property from your team.

I see in the homepage source that there is a google tag already present.

So I tried, looking in the theme editor, for the existing code in order to remove it.

In all the WP and Theme files, I could not find it?

I have no other related plugin in use.

I even try searching for the code via FTP – nil result.

Having exhausted most avenues and in order to get Site Kit to work, what other suggestions do you have, please?

    Many Thanks

  • Hello @rik0399 ,

Thanks for opening a support topic.

You can try the below steps if you wish, which may help find the plugin or theme where the snippet was inserted:

    1. Login to your site from a Chrome browser incognito window
    2. Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.
    3. Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot”. (This will temporarily deactivate other plugins and switch to a default theme – for you only, as a logged in user).
    4. Check your sites source code, I suspect you won’t find a snippet placed
    5. From back in your Health Check plugin click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to any additional plugins, before then visiting your sites source code once more.
    6. Enable your plugins one by one while rechecking your sites source code each time until you locate the snippet. You’ll need to refresh/reload the source code page each time
    7. If you can’t locate the existing Analytics snippet try activating your present theme from within troubleshooting mode before checking the source code once mode (Please refresh the page before checking)

Once you locate the source of the additional Analytics snippet you can exit troubleshooting mode afterwards.
If you’re unable to locate the snippet please share your current hosting provider.

    Best Regards,
