# almost pretty pemalinks problem

 * I don’t have mod_rewrite on my hosting server so I tried almost pretty permalinks…
   that didn’t work either, when I tried to view the blog it gave me a 404 error.
   So I uploaded a php.ini file to my webroot, as specified in the documentation,
   and retried.Now the home page opens but when I click on a post or on a page it
   still gives me a 404 error. I don’t have a .htaccess file anymore, as I understand
   I don’t need it with this kind of permalinks.
 * Any ideas please?

 * What webserver is your host running? IIS or Apache? If IIS, do you know what 
   version?

 * It’s IIS, I can’t find out right now but as I read in the documentation that 
   php.ini file should solve the problems even it were IIS 6, and there’s still 
   the weird fact that my home page is working
