    Hi,

First of all thank you for this incredible plug-in, it’s allowed me to build incredibly fast.

I’m creating a simple portfolio site. By default slideshow “A” is displaying. I’d like for the user to be able to swap from slideshow A to slideshow B or C by clicking text navigation. I’ve created these slideshows and have their relevant shortcode, etc. but I can’t figure out how to make the swap possible.

Just to recap I’m aiming for the appearance that there’s one slideshow, but when a user clicks on another “category” the slideshow content changes and can be changed continuously.

Any clues? I’ve looked through Support extensively, and stumbled upon this which is likely related, but I don’t have the skills to implement it or abstract the solution to solve my issue.

If there’s an easier way to do this that’d be great to know about as well.

    Thanks in advance!

You’re welcome, I’m glad my plugin has come in handy for you!

Do you have an example of another site that is doing what you are attempting to do? Or a link to the page you are working on?

Are these slideshows on different pages, or the same page?

    Hi Josh,

Think I could dig up an example site pretty quickly, I’ll start looking for one. In the mean time here’s a quick animation that’ll hopefully illustrate what I’m trying to do: Slideshow.gif

This will be on the same page. So the goal is to display Slideshow A on load, then when the user clicks a link it’ll swap to displaying Slideshow B, etc. Kind of like switching categories on posts on a text blog.

    Thanks for the fast response!

That’s possible with a little JavaScript, you just need to setup those links as tabs that switch which slideshow container is visible.

But you have to be careful about loading more than one slideshow on one page, the total download size of the page will include all the images in all three slideshows, so you could end up with a large page that downloads slowly.

Putting each slideshow on its own page isn’t as slick, but it does make is page smaller and faster, and allows you to have a link to that specific slideshow.

Thank you SO much Josh, I’ll try out the JavaScript approach!

No problem, let me know how it goes!
