This is somewhat related to https://wordpress.org/support/topic/best-practices-for-adding-background-video-on-cover-block-no-bandwidth-issues/

We also have a video looping on our site in the background of a cover block. The issue is that this does consume a good chunk of bandwidth for each user that visits. We have edited and compressed the video to have the least bandwidth impact possible while still being able to keep it looking good.

What would be ideal is being able to add external media sources such as YouTube to the background of a Cover block. Currently all that is desired is to add the embed code of the applicable media with settings such as described at https://developers.google.com/youtube/player_parameters.

This is what we used to do with the classic editor and using manual embed codes, but we are unable to do this with the blocks editor due to the inability to add external media for Cover blocks.

    Thank you for your consideration!
