After configuring the plugin and setting up the Google API, all goes well until I press the “Allow plugin to send emails using your google account” button, select my Google account and then press access “Allow” button from the Wants to access your email account window.

After pressing it, I get a generic 403 forbidden error.

If I ignore it and try to send a test email I get the message:

You cannot send an email. Mailer is not properly configured. Please check your settings.

My Client ID and secret text fields do not contain any empty spaces.

I am using Woocommerce 4,4,1, WP 5.5, and SMTP mail 2.2.1

  • Hi @rickbase1,

When you get a chance, could you please let me know if the 403 forbidden error coming from Google or your site? If possible, please share the screenshot of the error. It might be due to some security measures likely the mod_security apache module by your hosting provider that is filtering the incoming requests from Google.

    Thanks!

    Try enabling the GMAIL API
