    Hi,

You can create a non admin temporary role like subscribers, editors.

But. non admin temporary role can’t access the Temporary Login Link Without Password plugin feature and they can’t create more temporary login links for others.

Just want to understand your use case. How would you like to use this plugin?

I have an editor (user role editor) who is managing the website’s content. I’d like to give him permission to use your plugin so that he can also manage temporary logins.

    Hi,

    Thanks for explaining it.

Just thinking, if you allow your editor to manage Temporary Logins then why don’t you make them an admin. Though the plugin doesn’t support this I am just thinking if we allow the editor to manage temporary logins then they can also create a temporary admin account and access whole WordPress setup. Then this becomes loophole in the system.

So, it would be a good idea not to allow the editor to manage temporary logins. The ideal role to manage temporary logins is ad administrator only.

    I Hope that helps!

    Hi,

thanks for your reply. The capabilities of an editor are restricted for a good reason. I like that editors are e.g. not allowd to install plugins or make changes on global WP settings.

The possible loophole you mention: The admin role is not listed in the Visible Roles selection. It’s not possible to create a temporary admin account.

I played around and changed the capability in class-wp-temporary-login-without-password-admin.php on line 118 to “publish_pages”.
Editors can now use the Plugin. Works fine so far, but would be better to get there without the hack.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the update.

One more thing, we agree that Editor can’t create temporary users with the “Administrator” role but currently, it’s possible that they can access already created temporary logins with administrator roles.

Anyways, we will think about it more and also see how many users need similar requirements, and based on that we will make a decision.

BTW, if you like this plugin, please consider giving us 5 stars review.

    Have a great day!
