    Hi guys,

can somebody help me out please: I can’t figure out how to allow a role to change alt-tags on new/old pictures. The only bullet point in the “Media” section of the Members-Plugin is “Uploading files”. I have scrolled through all other categories and points, but I can’t find the restriction.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi @dawgt0r

I’m afraid that WordPress does not provide any special capability to change alt text in Media Library, and since Members displays only capabilities available, there is no such option.

    Hi @caseproof ,

thanks for the response. Do I understand it correctly that no member except the administrator can change the ALTtext of images and therein lies the problem?

Because with the main account I can change Text for new and old pictures.

    Thanks in advance!

I checked capabilities for alternative text in media image and you don’t need to be Admin to edit this field, but you need to grant Upload Files cap in Media tab and Edit Posts cap in Posts tab. If you want to edit alt text for images uploaded by other users, you’ll need to grant Edit Other’ Posts cap as well.

    I hope that helps.
