    Hi there,

I am not sure when this change started occurring I am afraid, but as of recently when in the customize (admin view), all my hidden widgets display in the customize view when previously they were hidden if the logic resulted in hiding them when published.

Luckily they are still hidden when viewed as a user (when published) but this has made the customize view difficult to use.

See my annotated screenshot here: https://snipboard.io/yzkcCI.jpg
Please let me know if this is now a setting somewhere or an issue (or if purely a conflict and not intended/new change)

    Hi @mysticza,

Thanks for using Widget Options! I can’t replicate the same issue on my dummy websites. Could you please check if there are any jQuery errors on the dev tools? Or any plugin conflicts when WP_DEBUG is on? Thanks!

    Regards,
    Mej

    Hi @donwebdesign,

We’re sorry you are experiencing this kind of issue. May we suggest resaving each of your widgets? Please let us know if the process works.

    Thanks,

I will try this as well as I assumed it was purely a conflict but will let you know.

I assume I should make a tiny change to each to allow me to save? Will try add a white space or something to each and save. Will do this later today and will refer back with results

Hello again, Here is another clue. I rolled Back to version 4.0 and it did not work. I then rolled back to version 3.9.6 and it worked. However, when I click Taxonomies then try to enter in the Category name it does not do that. Nothing appears. I hope this helps in trying to figure out what is going wrong.

No luck when trying to re-save a widget.

Note my issue only presents itself in the customize/editor view. When published and viewed as a signed out user the widgets are hidden as desired.

The customize view has just become cluttered with all my hidden widgets showing when they didn’t used to show if hidden by widget options logic.

Perhaps others can share if this is the same experience?
Thanks so much for any assistance!

Hey guys, I am having the same issue on two websites after the plugin was updated to 4.0.1.

It occurs as soon as a widget is created or changed. Unchanged widgets are still working normally.

If I choose “Hide on checked pages” and type in a category, the widget will be shown on all pages and posts, regardless of their categories. If I choose “Show on checked pages” and type in a category, the widget will be shown on no posts but on all pages, regardless of their categories.

I un- and reinstalled the plugin which didn’t help. I also deleted the widgets and recreated them which didn’t help, too.

    Hi there

Thanks it seems it is fixed in the customize view, so I am happy with this being marked as resolved.

However a few cases have occurred where I can’t seem to hide widgets (in customize view & published view) with category based selections which works on archive view pages but not individual posts. However doesn’t relate to this issue directly I imagine.
