    Hi there Site Kit makers,

I’m just trying to resolve an issue where everything seems to be working in my GA4 connection to the website, and I can see Search Traffic in the last 28 days in the plugin, but the plugin shows me (a registered admin, able to see the panel) zero for the web visits.

When I go to the GA4 property I can see actual visits there – they just aren’t showing up in my plugin dashboard.

I’ve checked the analytics settings in the plugin; the plugin is configured with the correct account and GA4 tag.

Hi @oxygensmith thanks a lot for getting in touch. Currently, Site Kit only supports the display of UA(Universal Analytics) data and not yet GA4 within it’s dashboards. You can find out more information on this in our Using Google Analytics 4 (GA4) guide.

Here you will also find our GitHub issue for further GA4 work so please feel free to follow this for future updates on GA4 within Site Kit.

You can quickly jump to your Analytics account from the Site Kit dashboard by clicking on the Source: Analytics quick link which will take you to your account where you will be able to view your GA4 data as you have mentioned you can.

This is why the data in your Site Kit dashboard is only showing the UA data currently. You can add a UA code to the site and link this to your GA4. You can do this with the GA4 setup assistant.

We are making good progress on the GA4 reporting but I am unable to give a timeframe on when this will be implemented but it is on the radar and being worked on. Hope this helps to answer your question but let me know if I can help with anything else.

Hey, apologies for the late reply.

That’s really good to hear. Analytics is showing our Universal and GA4 properties as connected. Before GA4 display is ready, does that mean I can configure the Site Kit plugin with our Universal Analytics property, GA4 will still collect data? I’m just asking because our visit data seems really different between GA4 and Universal Analytics (UA is recording far fewer visits, whereas GA4 is showing the expected visits).

    Cheers, Rob

@oxygensmith No problem at all and happy to answer your question. If you have Site Kit placing your UA and GA4 properties then data will be collected on both. If you are concerned about any discrepancies with your data or how your data is being tracked then I would recommend reaching out to the Analytics Help Center for further help.
