All text on site suddenly in italics

Hi there,

All text on my site, http://www.GradingGirl.com, is suddenly all in italics.

I’ve already taken the following actions but none have worked:

1. Went to Settings > Writing and selected “ ___ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and clicked “Save Changes.”

2. Checked my four latest posts. After checking each and still having problem, I completely deleted them. Still all italics. (all remaining posts have been up for months with no updates, so I figured they were safe)

Can someone help?

P.S. I have no knowledge of code, so if someone has suggestions they can spell out that any dummy in the dashboard can try (meaning me), I’m all ears. Thanks in advance

That’s a common GoDaddy hack that’s going around; the hacker inserts a personal or payday loan service link, but the hacker is stupid and their code is broken, i.e. the missing </i> tag that results in all italics. View page source to see the code.

To fix, work your way through these resources and follow all instructions to completely clean your site or you may be hacked again. Change all passwords. Scan your own PC. Use http://sitecheck.sucuri.net/ before and after.

Tell your web host you got hacked; and consider changing to a more secure host: Recommended WordPress Web Hosting

If you can’t do the work yourself, consider looking for a reputable person to fix it correctly on jobs.wordpress.net or freelancing sites such as Elance. (It’s not a good idea to respond to unsolicited emails from forum users offering to work for you.)

The interesting point is that my site is already registered by Sucuri since this past February. I’m not sure how this happened with that protection already there.

Thank you very much for your prompt response. I will look into this and post my update soon, with a hopeful resolve.

Sucuri fixed it within two hours. Thank you songdogtech for your suggestions!

If anyone else happens upon this thread, I definitely recommend Sucuri as a safe, helpful security service for these sites we put so much time into.
