Hi,
Thanks for your question. There is no possibility to lose any data when you update the plugin. We check our plugin in different ways when you release a new version. If data is lost every user is complaining. Can you please make sure you use our plugin or any other author plugin?
Best Regards
Same problem here! We updated from 1.6.2 to 2.0 – all data lost!
The admin of this plugin tried to say it was impossible that a plugin update deleted all the data. So what I think happened is that there are two identically named plugins – https://wordpress.org/plugins/tlp-team/ and https://wordpress.org/plugins/team-showcase/ and the update plugin link linked to the wrong plugin and overwrote everything.
The only solution was to rollback to a back up version and restore. In the end I switched to this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/team-showcase/ which is free, and is similar.
OMG! Posting here in case it helps anyone else.
I just searched further back through this support forum and found that actually, my original plugin had got updated with this one because they use the same namespace in WordPress! My original plugin was the one by @carlosmoreirapt (https://codecanyon.net/item/team-showcase-wordpress-plugin/4936368) and it got replaced with this one. I deleted this one and replaced it with the original one and it is all back up and running!
Perfect – glad you found the solution!
Glad to hear that you found the solution and we have already discussed the support forum about the namespace issue.
Thanks
