Support » Plugin: Page-list » All [subpages] shortcodes no longer working with new update.

  • Resolved nitrojoe20

All of the pages which contain the [subpages] shortcode have stopped working with the newest update of WordPress and the newest update of page-list.

I have attempted the following troubleshooting methods:

    Updating WordPress
    Updating Page-List
    Deactivating and Reactivating the plugin
Removing the entire plugin and re-adding the entire plugin

    The pages contain the comments:
    <!– Page-list plugin v.5.2 –>
<!– no pages to show –>

I’m assuming somehow the pages are not being seen by the plugin at all, however the site structure has not changed at all. These pages do have children, so…

I’m kind of lost now. Any help would be appreciated!

    Hi @@nitrojoe20

That is weird. I checked [subpages] shortcode and it is working properly for me.
Can you try to donwload prev version (v.5.1) here, install it instead and see if that fixes the issue?

I gave that a shot… It didn’t seem to work. I also tried a way older one, 4.3 just out of curiosity… No dice.

Here are some of the changes I’ve made since it was working (I didn’t notice it until today and all these changes happened over the past two days)

    Installed WooCommerce
    Updated WordPress
Updated All other plugins (including page-list)
    Installed WP Mail SMTP
    Installed My Custom Functions

Deactivated My Custom Functions (out of suspicion that it caused the problem)

I think the problem is that Page-List plugin is conflicting with some other plugin.
I would try to disable other plugins one by one and see which one is causing the issue.

    The issue plugin was:

    by PublishPress

I think the issue was with some sort of permissions, maybe Page-List could not access the subpages anymore. Bizarre. Well, now we know there is some conflict there.
