    Hello folks.

I’m picking up on a website created by the company i work for, and am unfortunately almost completely clueless re WordPress.

It appears that none of the links listed on the homepage seem to actually link out to anywhere.

The site URL is – their homepage does still function, but otherwise none of the other outbound links from that page seem to work.

I have been going through the FTP area for this site, but as this is wordpress, i really do not know if there is something that i may have missed in terms of how the directory/s are structured.

It SEEMS as though these pages just do not exist any longer.

I am just nervous of the fact that there is perhaps a switch or something I am completely unfamiliar with, which may have been thrown inadvertently before the job has arrived on my doorstep.

I have searched the support forums in order to try and find what might be causing the issue, but unless i am incorrect, the only problem i can trace occurred with regards to the version of wordpress installed and trying to insert links thereafter.

  • Got it. I emailed the developer who deployed this build, and he went straight for the .htaccess file. Apparently this needed the correct rules within the file – not the File Permissions – to allow wordpress to both read and write.
