  • I’m having exactly the same problem. I migrated to a different hosting server, and the event scheduler process stopped working. I tried restarting Watchdog, and then couldn’t get it to start up again. I installed Advanced Cron Manager Pro to see if I could see anything from there. Tried getting it to work from both the Scheduler within Weather Station and the Cron Manager, and at one point was able to get it to run – kept running for about 20 minutes and died again!

Have tried various combinations of enabling/disabling WP-CRON within WP-CONFIG, and scheduling the wget CRON job from within CPANEL. Nothing seems to work.

It seems as though the Watchdog process is failing (everything works fine when that works). Can’t work out what is causing it to stop working. I notice that the
Next Execution time is counting up, not down (when it’s working, it counts down, not up).

Can anyone advise me on this?

Resolved issue – fault was that upon migrating to a new server, the Defender Pro plug-in blocked the server IP thereby preventing cron jobs from running. Could not find anywhere to set the server IP within the Defender App. However, adding the server internal and external IP’s to the safe IP list worked. I had to also remove the IP address from the blocked list (internal IP).
