[resolved] All posts/pages gone in Firefox but fine in Safari (10 posts)

I just went to check my blog using Firefox (which I normally use) and all it says is "Not Found." The dashboard shows 0 posts and 0 pages! I panicked but then went and checked it in Safari and the blog is there. I haven't dared log in to the dashboard in case it all disappears. The only new thing I installed today was the plugin Snazzy Archives. I disabled and deleted it after this issue arose but there is still nothing in Firefox!

Thanks for any help you can provide!

PS. I also tried emptying the Firefox cache but it didn't help.

Just checked the pages in Safari and they are gone. All say "Not Found." The posts are still there but something terrible is happening! Help please!

(Sorry, not trying to "bump" but only know did I figure out that I could have just edited previous post)

  3. Everything looks fine to me.

when you empty the cache in firefox, you should clear not only at tools/options/privacy, but also tools/options/advanced.
    two places.

your blog looks fine in my firefox.

Thank you both! That is a relief.

Jasonkong, I have cleared in "prerferences, advanced." But how do I do the others? And why would the pages not appear in Safari if it is truly a browser problem? Can you see the pages, for example if you click on "Unplugged Project," can you see it?

    Thank you for the help!

  6. Oh, I see what you mean! In that case, everything does not look fine to me.

Try regenerating your permalink structure in Settings/Permalinks. If WordPress cannot automatically edit your .htaccess file, it will provide manual instructions after saving.

Well I went to settings/permalinks, changed nothing and clicked save. It said "permalink structure updated" but the dashboard still shows no posts or pages. Is that what you meant by regenerating permalink structure? Sorry to be obtuse but I am not really an expert, however I greatly appreciate your help. Something is quite wrong.

  8. Sounds like the problem is running deeper than we thought. You'll need to access your database via phpMyAdmin (most hosting providers offer this in their control panel) and look for the wp_posts table. You'll need to make sure that at least some of your posts are there before we continue.

Oh I fixed it! Thank you! Thank you!

I did what you said and went to the database. The wp-posts table said "in use" (all others in the list had data showing). When I hovered the mouse over it in the list in the left sidebar it said it was marked as "crashed". I tried performing a repair, and it worked! No longer says "in use," data is back, dashboard shows 649 posts and the blog now works fine! THANK YOU!

  10. You're welcome!
