All points on map disappeared, except one. (5 posts)

Something strange just happened with my site. All the pin points on the Google map just disappeared except one.

The strange thing is, if I'm logged in as an admin, I see all the points correctly but if I'm not logged in, I only see the one.

I'm running Firestorm 2.06.09. It was happening with WP 3.4.2 but now I upgraded to WP 3.5 hoping it might fix it and it didn't.

I'm also using a shortcode based on a filter: [fsrep-filter-5]. However, I also realized that the shortcode [fsrep-listings] doesn't work anymore. It just literally displays [fsrep-listings] on the page

Just to add to the craziness, I just realized issue is only with IE! I'm specifically running IE9.

I tested the site in Firefox, Safari, etc. and it works fine but in IE9, only one pin appears on the map.

Hello, can you create a support ticket on my site http://www.firestormplugins.com and provide me with the URL of your site? I will then do some testing in IE to see what the issue could be.

I figured out a few things over the weekend. It seems to happen when the address information is left completely blank.

When I view this file: /wp-content/plugins/fs-real-estate-plugin/xml/marker_listings.php?sort=all

If the label is blank, that node has no value, so the nodeValue property doesn't exist for that node, which causes problems with IE.

I'm pretty sure this wasn't a problem before. I believe it was introduced in either the recent upgrade to FireStorm or WP 3.5 or maybe both.

Th easy solution was to just put a non-breaking space in the address. From that respect, you can consider this resolved.

Also, here's a potential fix for the code:

    title: (listing[i].getElementsByTagName("LABEL")[0].childNodes[0].hasOwnProperty("nodeValue") ? listing[i].getElementsByTagName("LABEL")[0].childNodes[0].nodeValue : ""

It's only a suggestion. It's not there for anyone to actually implement...just for your consideration and a potential fix. I'm not sure what the impact is but maybe something for you to look at.

Hello, yes the map marker will not display for a property with no address as Google does not know where to put the marker.

The marker_listings.php file should not pull properties that have no address but I will double check this. I can see how this would cause an issue in IE.
