    Are you using the standard PayPal payment method that comes with WooCommerce by default or another one that’s powered by a plugin? Are you seeing the same thing when using Sandbox mode?

    I am using the standard plugin that comes with wooCommerce.

    Sandbox works fine.

    Would removing billing details from checkout have anything to do with it?

    It could definitely impact it. Any changes to your site can introduce conflicts that stop the gateway from working correctly.

    The best way to test for this type of problem is to temporarily disable all non-Woo plugins. If that resolves the issue, then slowly re-enable features until you find the one that’s causing the conflict.

    If the step above does not resolve the issue, the next course of action will be to switch back to a default WordPress theme like Twenty Sixteen, and then once again check to see if the problem is resolved.
