    Hello!

I manually installed wordpress on a godaddy site, and all of my pages go to 404 not found. I’m not sure if this is a permalink problem
    /%category%/%postname%
or an .htaccess problem or a wp-config problem
the only pages working correctly are index.php and the dashboard..

    any help would be appreciated!

switch to default settings in permalinks and save and check if still get 404 on pages if they work fine then switch back to custom structure.

they work fine when I switch back to default. When I switch back to custom structure, it’s all 404 not found.

That means that .htaccess file is not updated. is this linux server or window as its known that window server has problems with permalinks.

If this is linux server then check with your host if they have mod_rewrite ON

    It’s windows hosting. =)

That is reason why you getting 404 as window server does not have .htaccess file that rewrites the permalinks.
