    Hi all,

I recently swapped my plesk hosting with Godaddy to a Godaddy managed wordpress hosting service.

After several issues in the auto-migration feature, a tech support worker manually migrated my site.

Now, all of my site’s (https://backgroundiq.com.au) pages except the homepage return a 404 error.

My site’s permalinks were originally set to ‘Post name’. After seeing the error, I saved them as ‘Plain’ and back to ‘Post-Name’ again, to no avail.

My site currently does not have a .htaccess file (plesk doesn’t recognize these files).

If anyone has experienced a similar error and found a solution, please share it here. Any further help or recommendations are appreciated.

    Kind regards,
    Backgroundiq.

    You have a jQuery error:

Uncaught Error: Syntax error, unrecognized expression: #site-navigation a[href*=#]:not([href=#]), header.header a[href*=#]:not([href=#])

    See this for more information:

Check that your theme and all plugins are up to date.

The latest version of your theme is Version: 1.8.5.3 but you are on Version: 1.8.4.6

    Thanks for pointing this out.
Theme has been updated and all plugins are confirmed updated. Problem still persists. Any ideas?

You are still on version 1.8.4.6.

Deactivate all plugins and set your theme to twentysixteen.

    Did the problem go away?

If so, reactivate your theme. If the problem returns, it’s your theme.

If no, reactivate your plugins, one at a time, until you find the one that’s breaking your site.

Hi all, I managed to solve the problem through the following guide:

How to Fix Web.Config Error for WordPress Permalinks on GoDaddy

The first solution (adding the specified code into the web.config file) did not work for me. My config file was named web.config.bak and would spit errors if I changed the content, permissions or filename at all.

The second solution worked for me and my site is now (almost) back to normal, albeit with slightly less pretty links.

Thanks to all for your contributions, marked as closed.
