• Today I changed the /?p=87 link to /used-harleys-for-sale on one of my pages. Now all of my blog posts open to that page when I click the headline or the [click to continue…] link. Please help. Gene

  • Change it back and then read Using_Permalinks.

You can not change for just one page as permalinks works site wide how did you change for one page.

I’m afraid I really messed something up. On the “Edit Page” page, above the text editor, there was a button – “Change Permalinks”. I clicked on it and the “Permalinks Settings” page opened.

I selected “Custom Structure” and typed in “used-harleys-for-sale” and saved changes.

I thought it would just change from the shortlink to my custom link on that one page.

Now I can’t figure out how to undo it. I don’t know the original shortlink. On the page in question, there’s no procedure that I can find to just restore it back to default the way the page was created in the first place. There is an “Edit” button and a “View Page” button, but I don’t know what to put into the Edit option.

In Settings>>>Permalinks select Post name if you have that if not then select custom structure and enter this in box /%postname%/ and save

govpatel – IT WORKED!!!! Thank you so much!!

    You are welcome

    thank you govpatel!!

I had the same problem – pages were dropping like flies..

You should write something for the docs section since it is such an easy fix..
