    All of my users have been spammed by this plugin. Why do they see an advert?

    It says “We have spent countless hours developing this free plugin for you, and we would really appreciate it if you drop us a quick rating. Rate SmartCrawl”

    Why did you advertise to all my users without saying you would do this? This is terrible!!!!

    I respect the fact that you make something for free and I help companies with testing of plugins but you should never be allowed to take advantage of our private user information and directly show your adverts to users without permission.

    I would have never know about this if I didn’t get direct complaints from my users about this too.

    This is certainly something that shouldn’t be shown for all the members, however, I have tested it on my end now and can see the issue there as well 🙁

    We apologize for this inconvenience, I have already passed it over to our devs and they will look into sorting it out asap.

    We have just released a fix for this, please install version 2.2.4.1 and it should hide the notification from your other members.

    Hi Glen,

    Glad to hear it’s fixed now, we have already pinged our QA team to test this on all our other plugins as well, so far it seems that it was only happening on SmartCrawl but we will make sure all of them are tested 🙂

    Oh, and if you find it more useful now we would like to hear your new opinion on the plugin and if I may ask to update the rating if you find it a better fit now.
