Support » Plugin: SG Optimizer » All-in-one Event Calendar (ai1ec) Plugin breaks

I’ve reported this using Siteground’s internal issue tickets but just noting here for others.

With JavaScript minification enabled the All-in-one Event Calendar (ai1ec) plugin breaks, the dropdown inputs, hover-overs, expansions and such don’t work.

The reason being that the optimiser creates a file like “uploads/siteground-optimizer-assets/ai1ec_requirejs.min.js” but this file is a minified version of a “page not found” HTML page rather than the correct file.

This in turn appears to be because the “file” is made by ai1ec on the fly, the URL is: https://example.com/?ai1ec_render_js=event.js&is_backend=false but the returned script is indeed _in part_ requirejs as sg-optimizer rightly records; but appears to be a pre-combined JS file itself (it’s huge, and includes some jQuery at least).

If anyone knows how to fix it to work then that’s cool, but this is not really a support request, more a notification.

    Hey,

Would it be possible to provide at least one url, where the plugin is broken, so we can check

    Regards,

@hristo-sg , sorry, as I said I’ve reported it internally so it should be in the ticket system, I can email you the details but not public as it’s for a third party website not one I own myself; my primary domain with you is bridgehosting.net, ticket 3199317.

I can set up a staging sub-domain and make it broken if you need me to, but I can’t leave the site itself broken for you to test on.

    Same here.

That’s not a plugin issue but problem with the staging tool. I will look into it and apply a patch in the upcoming version if possible. Marking this as solved.

Miscommunication, I believe? My issue is NOT a staging tool problem. This happens on the live site. I can’t have JavaScript minification enabled on the site — if I do, the calendar breaks as described above.

I am replying to the original poster. Open a new thread, provide your site URL and we will look into it further.

I’m afraid I don’t have a lot of time to spend on this at the moment, but I did try to make a staging version on a different site that was broken and it didn’t work (by which I mean it _did_ work, wasn’t broken) .. but as I can’t see git commits and such I don’t know if there was an update recently that might have fixed it.

I’ll try again sometime next week and submit internally a URL for testing if I can get it to glitch, but it does sound like others have a very similar issue.

i guess i have the same problem – maybe my url https://komm-tanzen.at/calendar/ enables hristo pandjarov to look into it and hopefully narrow down the problem…
    i’d appreciate it very much!
