• HI, I’m having trouble since moving my wordpress site to the root. I have made sure all images are now looking in the right place (they were in a subdirectory /blog before)

An example path is: http://catillest.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/logo.jpg which I have copied from my ftp client. The file is definitely there! This is the top-left logo image and if you see the file path is identical on the site.

My one thought was permissions – all images in wp-content/uploads are all definitely set to 766.

The other crazy thing is when I try to upload new images, they still don’t show!

    Any ideas? Much appreciated!

    What is the ‘folder’ permissions?

Also, 766 is too open never go above 755.

The individual images do not require write access so they should be much less.

Ok thank you, so what would be a good permission setting for images I want people to see? The folder is also set to 766. I’m starting to think this probably isn’t the problem though…?

It’s a host issue – call them. 766 is not wise for security but is not an issue with upload (hence let less rights to users)
