• I just installed WordPress today so I’m a complete newbie. All I want are to enable comments on my weblog at http://etereoreal.com .

If possible I don’t want to create new themes, or completely integrate my site to WordPress yet. Again, I just want a visitor to be able to leave a comment on a post! Can someone give me some advice?

  • In the WordPress Control Panel, click on “Options,” then go to Discussion and make sure comments are enabled by default. And in your posts be sure that the checkbox for comments is checked.

With all the comment spammers around, the above request goes under the category, “Be Careful What You Wish For!”

    Good luck with your site!

    jonimueller,

In my General Options page I have WordPress address (URI) set to http://etereoreal.com/wordpress, and the Blog address (URI) set to http://etereoreal.com. URI’s need to be the same for my current site to be affected by the changes in the WordPress control Panel?

Otherwise when I enable comments or use Write Post in panel, nothing changes in my current site. Is there a way to upload my entire site to WordPress?

Also, I made sure to have comments enabled by default in General Options.

You should set both options to be the same URI

Thanks jonimueller and oriecat. I think I’m on the road to getting comments to work on my site.

You’ll know your comments are working when you have to come back here and hunt for anti spam plugins! ;-P
