How many groups are listed ? Around 20 ?
What is the status of the group that are not listed ?

I am the owner of 25 groups, all in public mode and I see exactly 18 groups only in the buddydrive dropdown.

Yes i know what’s going wrong, i’ll update BuddyDrive soon. In the meantime, you can edit the file buddydrive/includes/buddydrive-item-template.php by replacing line 148 with :
$user_groups = groups_get_groups( array( 'user_id' => 1, 'show_hidden' => true, 'per_page' => false ) );
