We just upgraded to 1.8.8 and now all events show the default warning message from the events page

This page is used by Events Made Easy. Don’t change it, don’t use it in your menu’s, don’t delete it. Just make sure the EME setting called ‘Events page’ points to this page. EME uses this page to render any and all events, locations, bookings, maps, … anything. If you do want to delete this page, create a new one EME can use and update the EME setting ‘Events page’ accordingly.

I have verified that the events page is set correctly in the system, and disabled and re-enabled the plugin with no change in behaviour. Any suggestions?

If you see that message, it means that page is not selected in the EME options page as being the special events page. Just go the EME options, tab “Events” and check that the first setting there (“Events page”) points to that page.

It IS selected, though, that’s the really odd part. The page even has the following in red at the top:

This page corresponds to Events Made Easy events page. Its content will be overriden by Events Made Easy. If you want to display your content, you can can assign another page to Events Made Easy in the the Settings.

Are you sure it is the same page? Also, maybe try resetting your permalink settings (first to the default, then back to what it was).
I just updated 3 remote sites on 3 different providers, no issue here …

Yes, I’m certain – I even changed the page title to double-check that there wasn’t a second “Events”.

Unfortunately changing the permalink had no effect.

Demo? Or create a new events page and try setting that in the options.
Also: what else changed? Other plugin/theme updates? Or new ones? Caching plugins?
Did you try disabling other plugins and then re-enable one by one? And/or with the default wp theme?

    DEMO: https://torontoconference.ca/events/102/open-hands-mission-trip/

Creating a new events page without content and setting it in the plugin on the Events tab gives me a blank page for the above link.

Our host has caching enabled. I’ve cleared it multiple times.

I do not believe there were other plugin updates. I’ll verify that.
Meanwhile, I’ll start stepping through the plugins to see if we have a conflict.

There was one other update: NextGEN gallery. As soon as I disabled that plugin, the events page began working again.
I’ll roll that one back and hopefully that will solve the problem.
Thank you SO MUCH for your help to troubleshoot this, Franky!

Something changed again, since it works now 🙂

Ok, but I also use nextgen, without problems here …

Ok, but I also use nextgen, without problems here (I hope, I’ll double-check) …

They rolled out an update (version 2.2.8) about 3 hours ago, so you may still be running the previous version?
I went back to version 2.2.2 and there are no issues with events.

Nope, I’m on 2.2.8 and it still seems ok here …
