If you didn’t customize MEC,
First please make sure to disable the “All-day Event” option on the single event back-end page (please check it again).
Then if your issue persists again, deactivate all your plugins and let the MEC remain active only, set your theme on default. Then reload the page, if the issue was solved, then activate your plugins one by one and your theme, refresh your page and check to see which plugin is causing the issue.

Youre referring to the “All-day Event” box in the single Event Details, Date & Time, correct? Checking and unchecking that box seems to do nothing.
I am not sure what you mean by “didnt customize” – I am currently testing out the free version of the plugin. I have customized some global settings in the MEC settings area.

Have you tried disabling plugins to see if they are causing conflicts?
