  • Same here. In addition, there is no Compare button on a product page unless the product type is set to “variable”. It won’t compare simple products, e.g. similar products from different manufacturers? Seems unnecessarily restricted, and pretty useless in my case. 🙁

    Hi Uplaytablet,

    Yes that is correct – All WooCommerce ‘attributes’ are created under the ‘Master Category’ on the Free Lite version.

    They all show a N/A value until you assign a value. Compare Products cannot know what values you want to assign to each product.

    All WooCommerce ‘Attribute’ Terms are auto created as ‘Compare Feature Fields – as multi-select dropdowns – But you must physically set which values apply – if you don’t it shows – N/A (Not Available)

    This is clearly explained with images on the plugins wiki

    By the way – thanks for upgrading to the Pro License Version.

    Hello kchayka,

    No actually the Free Lite version works with single products as well as products with variations – if your theme won’t show the compare button with single products then you should change the button position – because something in your theme is blocking it.

    See the plugins wiki – here

    3. Product page Compare Buttons

    Change position if Compare button does not show on the front end.

    Thank you for the info, Steve. The “Features” confused me because the product page appeared to pick up on product variations, which is what were all coming out N/A. I deleted all the variations and tried to enter them in as Features but they rejected as “already present”. I had to go into the database and directly delete them from the compare_fields table then they could be added back in.

    BTW, what’s with all the BLOB types?

    About the Compare button not showing on a single product page, this happens regardless of the before/after setting when the “Add to cart” button is disabled, i.e:
    remove_action('woocommerce_simple_add_to_cart', 'woocommerce_simple_add_to_cart');

    The plugin doc does provide template code to get around this, but doesn’t offer any help on which template to insert it. After some hunt and peck around the WooCommerce plugin files I did find an action hook that did a satisfactory job. BTW, the only way I found to hide the Add to Cart button in the compare pop-up was to set display:none in the stylesheet. It would be preferable to disable this with an action hook, too.

    So all is figured out now and I can better appreciate this plugin. Nice job 🙂
