• When I go to write a new post with the block editor in WP, I see the drop down menu for categories. However, the categories do not all display (only through the “I” categories), and I am not able to mark/un-mark categories once I’ve selected them. My understanding is that this could be related to REST API, but I’m unsure how to check that. Any help would be great.

How many categories do you have?

There is a known limitation of 100 at the moment. That should be fixed in the future.

Interesting, is that new? I believe I have over that amount…my blog has been around for quite a while and when I transferred over from Blogger I think all of my tags became categories in WP. All categories still show up when I go to Posts>Categories. I just can’t see them when I am trying to assign them or un-assign them while editing. I haven’t had a problem with it until the new editor came out.

Yes, this is new, and temporary until the problem is solved.

Is there any estimation of when it will be fixed? I prefer to not have any posts filed under “uncategorized” but am unable to change it with this bug.

No idea, however in the meantime, on the Posts screen, you can use the Quick Edit option to edit categories for posts without entering the full editor screen.

Yep, I have the same issue. The category drop down shows none of my 15 categories. Yuck. Any ETA on the fix? Thanks.
