Could you check if any content type is selected in “Excluded content types” field displayed on the first screen of Permalink Manager settings?
Posts, pages and media are checked.
Ok, thank you! That is why your permalinks disappeared. Please uncheck “posts” and “pages” to revert to the previous custom permalinks you created with Permalink Manager.

If I am right, you probably tried to change the permalink by editing the native slug, which only lets you use letters, numbers, and dashes. To clarify, the original permalinks are based on them.
Simply change the “Current URI” box to “articles/2007.html” to make this work.
