alignment problem with search submit button

    i tried the following button to change the position of search submit button but nothing happening

    .searchform input[type="submit"] {
  vertical-align: top;
   }

    please throw some light on this issue

    Hi sher21,
    you cannot use quotes and double quotes in your custom-css box due to new wordpress theme guidelines.
    So you should put those kind of css in your child-theme style.css or use a custom css plugin.
