• I’m using a new install of NextGEN Gallery v2.0.40 in the Twenty Fourteen theme – see http://www.artisan11.co.uk/gallery/

The main album has sub-albums for events from different years and each year has galleries in it for the events from that year.

I have been trying to make the sub-albums display in columns but, as you can see, they will only display one above the other in one column.

I have been right through Gallery Settings and Other Options but can’t find anything that makes a difference. Basic Thumbnails is set to 0.

Can anyone tell me how I can get the albums to display in columns?

@artinet – You appear to be using the NextGEN Basic Extended Album, have you tried inserting a NextGEN Basic Compact Album for that page?

Elementary mistake! I was adding a shortcode (following what I did in a NextGEN album I built a couple of years ago) and I didn’t spot the ‘Attach to post’ icon.

Many thanks for putting me on the right track 🙂
