Support » Plugin: Pods - Custom Content Types and Fields » Documentation quite difficult, but support outstanding

  • When you get stuck the documentation is not easy to find nor to understand for average wppeople. For instance I saw nothing happened when I use the shortcode to output form-fields. Probably I did something wrong, but I got stuck. I complained about that, but the authors were quick to reply and pointed me in the right direction.

This plugin can do amazing things that no other premium plugins can do right. So it is well worth the effort to hit that learning curve. 😉

@tonvandervalk66 You landed on our stub page for the new documentation, somehow. My sincerest apologies for the confusion there. This is the documentation you’re looking for:

    https://pods.io/docs/learn/shortcodes/pods/

    Specifically:
    [pods name="podname" form="1" fields="my_field,another_field"]

I looked for a forum post both on our official WordPress.org forums:
    https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/pods/

    and on our Forums:
    https://pods.io/forums/

but I didn’t find anything from you. For an incredibly small team, we are very responsive with support, which probably the biggest reason why the new documentation is behind.

For the fastest support and answer to your questions, we maintain a Slack Chat:
    https://pods.io/chat/

which is often the best place to go when you have questions you need answered quickly. We don’t staff it 24/7 but we often reply there within 24 hours or less even on the weekends.

Thanks so much for updating your review based on our responses. We definitely realize our documentation is not the best; we’re working on it. Our support, we definitely feel, is on par with premium plugins, because we genuinely care about our customers. Working with our type of plugin usually takes a different process than a simple ‘here’s a step by step how to use this’, because you have to understand structure, content, theme integration, etc. You might also get some insight into our plugin from this video:
