• I’m very confused about this, and hope I can explain myself. Was getting more and more spam comments, and since I only get maybe a dozen legitimate comments per year, decided to eliminating commenting. In discussion settings, I’ve taken out the checkmark from “allow people to post comments on new articles”. I’m now no longer getting “pending” comments in WordPress. However, what I AM still getting is emails with subject lines such as (for example) Akismet: Spam – Kentucky Blog Contact: 韓国ドラマ無料. The message starts out:

To: Arlene (my friend, I’m her webmaster)
    From:
    keesteoxype
    rotannoup@……(rest of address)
    Message:
etc etc, almost always with foreign language, usually some sort of Asian language, something something that looks like Russian.

The kicker is that these emails do not show up in WordPress. http://kyblog.arleneeakle.com is the url for this particular blog, but there are more as you’ll see in the links area. The majority come from the TN & VA “Blog Contact” but they all get them.

I’ve kept a couple samples that I can forward to someone if needed to figure this out.

Does anyone have any ideas why we are still getting these?
