    Hello! Recently, I noticed that Akismet keeps upgrading to 5.0.2 (that’s good), then silently downgrading to 5.0.1 (that’s bad!). I get “some plugins were updated” emails multiple times per day.

    This is for self-hosted wordpress.

    My installed plugins are:
    * Akismet Anti-Spam
    * GNU Terry Pratchett
    * Health Check & Troubleshooting
    * Hello Dolly
    * Jetpack
    * Jetpack Protect
    * Safe Redirect Manager
    * WP Super Cache

    (As an aside — Hello Dolly keeps installing itself whenever I try to delete it. Is that a WordPress quirk or actually something concerning?)

    Hi there!

    The two problems (Akismet downgrading and Hello Dolly reinstalling) sound like a problem with the WordPress installation, not an issue with the Akismet plugin. I’m not aware of any WordPress quirks that would cause the Hello Dolly plugin to keep installing itself.

    Since you have the Jetpack plugin on your site, it’s possible that the Jetpack Activity Log may help reveal what’s going on. Do you mind sharing your site’s URL?

    I also suggest contacting your host to see if they have any information on what’s changing the plugin files.
