Akismet / Jetpack?

    In the changelog for Akismet 3.0.0. I saw:
    Improve Akismet setup to use Jetpack to automate plugin setup.

    What does this actuelly mean? What happens on sites that do not use Jetpack but do use Akismet? I really like to know before upgrading.

    For sites that don’t use Jetpack, this doesn’t change anything.

    For sites that do use Jetpack, the Jetpack connection can be used to simplify the process of retrieving the user’s Akismet API key.
