When using the plugin and the hosting server’s PHP mailer my notification emails show the following:

    from: your-name <siteEmail@mydomain.com> via server.mywebhost.com
    reply-to: your-email

where your-name is the form submitter’s name, siteemail@mydomain.com is the email with website domain, and your-email is submitter’s email. This is desirable.

When using Akismet integration, the notification email comes in like this:

    from: hostingUsername@server.mywebhost.com

There is no reply-to in the header. Is this expected behavior or might I be doing something wrong? Will sending via SMTP vs PHP mailer solve the issue?

    Thanks

Where can we see the website?

This is a client’s site, not mine, so I can’t provide that information. I did however install an SMTP plugin rather than using the default PHP mailer and that solved the problem.

If you’ve now solved your problems, it helps others if you change the topic status to Resolved.

Well I worked around the issue, not really resolved it to my satisfaction. Would be good to get the akismet integration to work with PHP Mailer and not have to install and additional plugin. Maybe if someone else has this issue and has the time and ability to post the site URL, it can be resolved, if that is possible.
