I also had Google showing 404 page errors for Ajax.
I fixed it by adding the following line to the ROBOST.TXT file:
Disallow: /wp-content/plugins/count-per-day/
After including that line, no more problems with Goggle Analytics reporting – well, except that it reports I now have 16,709 blocked URL’s !

sorry for no answer, but i din’t get a notification about the question.
nobody needs to call ajax.php directly so i sent a 403 header.
btw i use “Disallow: /wp-content/”
