[Resolved] AJAX post pagination within shadowbox/lightbox

    @shagdirty

    Howdy. I’ve been all over the place and haven’t found anything that fits my needs exactly (and I’m not the best custom dev guy)

    Basically what I want to do is have a listing of posts and their excerpts on a page. When you click on a post, I want that post to pop up in a lightbox/ajax type scenario. (loading all the remaining post data from the server, like the_content() and some custom fields) I’ve got that working just fine.

    NOW, I want to be able to present users with next and previous buttons so that they can continue browsing full listings within that shadowbox window. The default WP next and previous post links don’t work with the technique I’m using (derived from this: http://www.emanueleferonato.com/2010/04/01/loading-wordpress-posts-with-ajax-and-jquery/ ).

    I feel good that I’ve made it this far but the next and previous is giving me trouble. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks, Shag

    I was grossly overthinking this. I ended up creating a template and a page (so I had something to link to) that used that template and opening that url within shadowbox. All of the standard WP functions and loop work just fine, including the next/prev links. excellent
