    Hello everyone,

I’ve been using wordpress at work for a couple of weeks, but now I want to do something more complex, with ajax.

So now I have a custom home page, wich gets the posts, but only 6 per pages. I also have a pagination system that I’ve done, so it’s not only “next” or “back”. Anyway, I have a javascript function that is called, in this function I want to load an external php page that will executes functions and return the value to ajax. Thing is, locally I can get it to work, with the same setup as online, only, when it is online, I see through fireBug that it returns an error 500.

But I’m not sure I’m doing this the right way. The php page that ajax is calling is at the root folder of my wordpress directory. So I just call it : Should I do this differently?

By the way, I’ve changed the chmod of every file on the server to 755, permalinks are set up to default, .htaccess file is alright. I don’t have access to apache error logs, so I can’t help much on this side, even though I think it comes from there, but I still want to know if there as a better way to do what I want to do.

    Thanks in advance,

Internal server errors (error 500) are usually described in more detail in the server error log. If you have access to your server error log, generate the error again, note the date and time, then immediately check your server error log for anything useful. If you don’t have access to your server error log, ask your hosting provider to look for you.
