Hi Jonathan, thank you for this sweet little plugin.

This plugin solves a real problem by allowing users to select categories and see the content on the same page, but I feel one thing is kind of missing and that is an AJAX filter option.

Is there any way to make the filter of this plugin Ajax so that people can instantly access the filter results without force reloading the page every time?

I know I might be asking for something very complex thing but just asking out of curiosity?

    Thank you
    Wasim

    Hi @wasimness

Thank you for those kind words.
I’ve had AJAX in mind a while but the problem is how to make it 100% compatible with all other plugins and the themes own layout. It’s not an easy task.
I think the only way to do such as thing would be to render the results into the archive template on the backend, then picking out just the looped posts and then injecting them into the actual frontend through the AJAX callback. It’s a very hacky and likely not a fast solution.
If you have an idea on how to do it better I’m all ears!

This ^ combined with the fact that since I created this plugin I’m now a full time employed CTO with a family and a house to take care of I’ve had to down-prioritise new features of BTF for the last few years and just focus on making sure it works. Excuses excuses right šŸ˜€
