ailed to import Media “1234556″: Remote server did not respond

    Hi!

    I’ve got a problem with my website. When trying to upload the sample data for my theme, the images and sounds don’t want to upload. In the beginning, I’ve got an error: ,,Failed to import Media “1234556″, but after changing some variables in WordPress’ PHP, caption changed to ,,Failed to import Media “1234556: Remote server did not respond”. What seems to be the problem in this case? Is there someone with similar experience?

    Post & Page attachments (images etc) aren’t actually part of the standard WordPress import file. The file merely contains the original urls for these images so that the new site can import from the old site. In your case, it sounds like there’s an issue contacting the old site where these attachments are actually stored. Do you know what site the images etc are to be imported from? Have you checked that the old site is still online & available?
