Hello, I have set up Agentpress Pro for a wedding site, which works fine except I noticed that even when I specify a specific taxonomy on the Agentpress Search Listings widget, it displays ALL taxonomies in the search results, not just the specified taxonomy.

I have laid out 6 categories with Search Listings widget on the homepage:

And if you search, for example, The Outfits, the search results return all listings in every taxonomy. If I choose a specific feature (eg. The Dress) it returns the correct results, but the default search returns every listing ever posted. Would like, of course, for it to return only specified taxonomy, thanks in advance

but the default search returns every listing ever posted.

That’s the way the default search works. You need to choose a term from the dropdown to provide search criteria

Hey Ron thanks so much, and it is a fabulous plugin, btw. Gotcha on the default search, clearly I have multiple searches set up on this page but even when I check say, The Gifts, as the only search results to return in the widget settings, the default still returns all listings, ideally what I would like to do is to only return listings in one specific taxonomy, with no “search all feature.” But, barring that, any good way to just hide the default taxonomy in the dropdown?

Do you have uppercase letters in your taxonomy names?

I do, not in the slug but in the names, for example, on Register Taxonomies page, I have:
    slug: theoutfit
    singular name: The Outfit
    plural name: All Outfits

Thanks, Ron, for you time in looking at this.

I checked your site and the gifts search widget worked for me. I got a different gift with each selection.

Thanks so much, that is correct, when you choose a specific feature (eg. For the Groomsmen) it returns the corresponding listing(s). The problem I am having lies in the default selection, for example, The Gifts. When you click the default search (The Gifts) it returns all listings:
    http://www.hersparkle.com/?s=&post_type=listing&thegifts=

Not just listings in The Gifts.

I even created a feature called All Gifts, which actually returns the correct results:
    http://www.hersparkle.com/?s=&post_type=listing&thegifts=all-gifts

But I still have the problem of the default search being The Gifts and all results from all taxonomies being returned rather than just results in gifts. Ideally what I am hoping to do is have The Gifts, the default, return the same results as All Gifts.

When you click the default search (The Gifts) it returns all listings:

That’s working as expected. You cannot search by taxonomy. The WP search works by term(s) so you have to select a term from the dropdown for it to be included in the search criteria.

Okay got it thanks so much for taking a look into it. I think I will look around to see if I can find a dropdown menu widget for custom categories that I can create manually, that way I can input only the links that I wish to appear (like I have set up the nav menu). I really do appreciate the time and your explanation, thank you again.

Hello, I’m trying to find the differences between Agentpress 2.0 and Agentpress Pro. Been using A.P. 2.0 for many years (dif host) and recently discovered “pro”. I am in the real estate business and not a very technical, so please try to explain so can understand. Thank you very much.
