    Hi @gonzales0610,

Looks like some caching is probably happening. Switch to Javascript mode in the advanced panel and then clear the server cache and it should be good.

    Thanks

Where do I go to clear the server cache?

    Thank you.

    Hi @gonzales0610,

That will depend on your setup so can’t really answer that, but visiting you site now looks like it’s working.

    Thanks

    Hi Phil,

Having the same issue. Website is http://www.cider.nyc and it’s been working fine until recently. I’ve tried to enable “Use uncachable version” but no luck. Any idea why it won’t work?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi @yage,

You’ll need to clear the server cache. Looking at what’s generated I see a class of age-gate-standard. Once it is cleared, it’ll be age-gate-js

    Hi Phil,
Thanks a lot. Do I clear the server cache from my hosting control panel or from wordpress?

    Thanks again.

Hi @yage – not something I can answer really. If you have a cache plugin clear that. If you have caching in your control panel, clear that one. If you have both, clear both πŸ™‚

Might be worth doing the browser cache afterwards too.

    Thanks

    Hi @philsbury

The age gate message asking you to verify that you’re 21 years or older isn’t appearing since I switched it to Javascript mode. That’s why the website pops up when you go to it. Do you know what the problem could be?

    Thanks in advance,
    Miguel

    Hi @gonzales0610,

Age Gate in JS mode renders towards the end of the load process so anything above it in the DOM will prevent it from showing until those things are done. You have 97 Javascript files alone, many images over 1MB and so on.

We are making changes in an upcoming version to allow it to load earlier, but you should really look at optimising some of those other things as it helps SEO, any obviously users on slower connections. Have a look at this analysis, fixing those issues should set you on the right path.

    Thanks
    Phil

Hi Phil, I have cleared both the cache in wordpress and on the hosting panel and on the browser and it still does not work.

Hi Phil, I have cleared the cache from my host and via a plugin, and also in the browser. The age gate plugin still will not let me in. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Hi @yage,

Can you screenshot your age gate advanced settings page and share it?

    Thanks
    Phil

    Absolutely, here you go:

Hi @yage – you don’t have JS mode switched on. Turn on the first toggle and save, then clear all the caches again and it should work then.

    Thanks
    Phil

    Hi Phil,

I switched JS mode on and cleared the cache. Now the page loads, but Age gate doesn’t appear at all. I’ve tried on several devices.
