I wrote a topic about this 2 months ago where I was unable to update the plugin. Last time I was told to delete and re install the plugin, which worked.

But this time I am unable to update or even delete the plugin. I keep receiving this message.

Update failed: The update cannot be installed because we will be unable to copy some files. This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions.

Installation/ updates are actually handled at WordPress core level Jack, this is not something AO can fix.

If indeed a permissions problem (which seems likely) then use the “file manager” in your hoster’s management UI (cpanel or similar) or use (S)FTP and delete the entire Autoptimize folder there?

    hope this helps,
