Ok, I found the reason why.
Your plugin doesn’t like hyphens in file names anymore.
So if the image file name is nice-image-1.jpg it will not show.
It needs to be niceimage1.jpg to show up.
Mate… I need a fix for it. I have loads of galleries and massive amount of image missing now after update.

Actually no… I am confused now… some images while having hyphens in names do show up…

Every kind of special character which is allowed within your server operation system is supported for galleries images. 😉
Any more details of your problem or a link to the issue?
Ok… think now I got it… when images are NOT attached to the page I want to display gallery on, then they don’t show up.
But it wasn’t an issue before the update?

Images which are not attached to a page or page cannot be shown by using [gallery] because the shortcode does not “know” about other images. Please check your shortcode parameters.
For example I have a post featuring new product images, where originally all images featuring that product were uploaded, so they became attached to that post. All images were uploaded to it but only using 4 there as gallery, rest and those 4 as well goes to that product’s page I’ve created afterwards.
Everything was working fine before the update and it wasn’t a problem and I believe WordPress itself doesn’t restrict that for galleries anymore either.
So, confused… 🙁
Ah, have to say that I’m not using your plugins’ galleries feature, I’m using standard WordPress galleries.
Ok, to sum it up again.
I found out now why some images weren’t showing up, they were only uploaded through the media, so never attached to a page. So for those it’s fixed now.
But the issue that stays is that when images are attached to 1 page, and I’m trying to add those images to WordPress Gallery on other page – they don’t show up anymore, and they were just fine before update.

Alright, will be fixed in 1.5.6. 🙂
Since it bugged me, I googled around and experimented with disabling your plugin, so the last update would be that it’s indeed something withing the plugin code 🙂
You see, when inserting WordPress Gallery, images don’t have to be attached anywhere to show up nicely. With Fancy Gallery Lite enabled they are gone.
When can I expect an update/fix?
