After updating the plugin Webstories, my WordPress dashboard and website are not opening, and show this message – Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance.

@lata105 Hello there. Do you experience the same issue when using a Chrome incognito window, and after clearing any caching plugins?

If your site is stuck at the “Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance” message, I recommend consulting a guide like this to help fix it. There are also tons of Google search results about this topic.

Basically, this can happen if your server times out when updating a plugin, theme, or even WordPress itself. It’s not an issue with the Web Stories plugin specifically.

To fix it, you have to remove the .maintenance file in the document root of your site. The easiest way to remove it is by asking your hosting provider.
